Author, speaker and teaching pastor Samuel Kee releases SOUL TATTOO: A Life and Spirit Bearing the Marks of God, October 1 from David C Cook. In the book, Kee relates our collective cultural longing for something that will last to the rising urban trend of tattoos. Using the imagery and illustrations of contemporary tattoo culture, Kee connects the timeless principles of Scripture to the relevancy of a rising custom where an estimated $2.3 billion is spent each year in the U.S. alone.

The goal of SOUL TATTOO is to help readers overcome the harshness of life, not by escaping it, but by truly entering it. Kee shares that the tattoos on our skin reveal a longing for something deeper than ink, that tattoos are a way of expressing the need for dignity.

"Dignity is as essential as food. Without dignity, our souls die and our bodies long to follow," states Kee. "Is there a source of dignity that no trial can touch? That no storm in life can wash away, that nothing in life can even threaten? I have this crazy idea that there is. God has given us a permanent source of dignity in the form of a tattoo, but not on our skin, on our souls."

Kee finds these "soul tattoos" in Isaiah 43:1-7, where God writes to a people in exile who were discouraged, defeated and dislocated, declaring His eternal promises:

I Love You

I Created You for My Glory

A reader may not have a single tattoo on their body, or may have run out of space for new ones.
